About the Tour

Welcome to Birmingham, Alabama, Travel Rebel.
In the 1960’s the deep south was segregated, and the people lived by the law of the land, known as Jim Crow Laws. But the world was changing. And the good people of Birmingham had enough.
No more would they accept a society where the color of their skin dictated their life. So, they organized, stood up, protested and fought for their Civil Rights.

They became heros.
The journey was marked with violence, bombings, police brutality, hate and segregation.

It was full of nonviolent protests, growth, beautiful communities wanting a change and love.
Communities and people full of love and ready for a change.
On our walking tour I’ll guide you to the historic civil rights locations in Birmingham where their heroic events happened and I’ll tell you the story of the people that fought for civil rights, and in turn changed the world.

I’ll meet you at the historic 16th Street Baptist Church.
