The “Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride” Tour

Of all the famous characters of the American Revolution Paul Revere is one of the best known. He’s that brave soul that rode through the night screaming “The British are coming!” alerting the country side and beginning the revolution.

At least that’s what you learned in your history books.

Truth be told, Paul Revere mostly faded from history until the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow penned is now famous poem “Paul Revere’s midnight ride”. Old Longfellow stretched the truth just a bit, as many a great author tend to do. The result was a nation obsession with Paul Revere. He received a new tombstone. His name was taught in schools nationwide. And his story was forever changed.

On our tour “Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride” we will walk in the footsteps of Paul Revere from his house to the Copp’s Hill Terrace overlooking where he rowed his boat across to Charlestown. Our tour is told in poetic form, using much of Longfellow’s poem and words as the base of our story.
